WHITNEY HOUSTON, A QUEEN OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

Whitney Houston,who was the golden woman of the music world, died in the Beverly Hotel in Los Angeles. She was wowed by the audiences on the eve of music's biggest night at the hotel. She was recognised as the queen until her voice was destroyed ( ruined ) by the use of drug. When she died she was 48. 

Houston was expected to appear at the gala, Davis, who was her mentor, had told she would perform. " It is her favourite night of the year .....who knows by the end of the evening."

" I just can't talk about it now. " her God-mother Aretha Franklin said. " It's so stunning and unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I was reading coming across the TV screen.

ANGELINA JOLIE ; " I am so excited about premiere in Bosnia "

Jolie says she is so nervous and excited about the premiere in Sarejevo for her war movie " In the Land of Blood and Honey " . The film is being shown at the Berlin International Film Festival on Saturday. It is set to make its full debut in the Bosnian Capital on February14. Julia's directorial debut is a drama about a Serb soldier who finds his ex-lover , a Muslim Bosnian woman, among sex slaves in a camp.

" I'm nervous and I'm excited " Jolie said. " I will probably cry through the entire thing. I'll be very moved because, of course, a lot of the people coming are the victims of war so it is going to be heavy." she added.

PRIME MINISTER RECEP TAYYİP ERDOĞAN , IN GOOD HEALTH AFTER SECOND SURGERY

PM Erdoğan underwent a successful medical surgery on his digestive system and was in good health. The 30-min. procedure was the second and final phase to keyhole surgery performed on his intestine on Nov.26. The PM is in good health. He plans to continue his routine engagements during the week. 

His office  didn't say when the procedure took place, but Turkish Media reported that Erdoğan, 57, had been taken to the hospital in İstanbul late on Friday.

PERSISTENT SNOW CONTINUES TO AFFECT LIFE ACROSS TURKEY

For the weeks, chilling weather and heavy snowfall have brought daily life to a standstill in rural parts  of Turkey. It also forces closures of rural roads in the country's eastern regions. In Bitlis, the eastern province , snowfall has brought the life to a standstill, where snow reached a depth of almost 2.5 metres. " We're helpless in the face of  this natural disaster. Many roofs have collapsed due to the heavy snow. We are in need of water as th pipes have frozen due to the cold weather. The children are fed up staying inside." a resident of Bitlis said.
